A Proof of Residency Letter is a written sworn statement that declares an individual resides at a certain address, typically to prove state residency. 

The letter is a type of affidavit that is to be considered an official statement. You must sign the document along with witnesses who can verify your address.

When you need to prove your residency, a Residency Affidavit must be submitted to the party that wants to see proof.

However, you’ll need to submit other pieces of evidence or legal documents, such as a driver’s license, passport, or mail addressed to you at the address to demonstrate that you live where you claim residency.

Proving your residency can be done in 3 steps:

1. Create a Proof of Residency Letter: Write a sworn statement that someone can sign and legally verify that you reside at your address.

5. Notarize the letter: The letter must be notarized by a notary public to be considered official.
