A Bill of Sale helps you register your newly purchased vehicle with the state. Alabama gives buyers 20 calendar days from the date of purchase to register the vehicle.

Required Registration Documents

When registering a car in Alabama, you must provide the following documents:

• Odometer disclosure (if applicable)
• Alabama liability insurance
• Valid driver’s license or state ID
