It typically includes:

  • Full names and signatures of both parties

This document serves as proof that the buyer has legally acquired the item and that the seller no longer has any rights to it.

  • Bill of Sale (Form VP104)
  • Vehicle title signed over to the buyer
  • VIN Certificate
  • Nevada Emission Vehicle Inspection Report (if applicable)
  • Nevada Evidence of Insurance

Boat Registration Forms

All motorboats operated on Nevada waters must be registered through the Nevada Department of Wildlife (NDOW). You need to submit the following documents:

  • Bill of Sale with full boat description
  • Previous title or registration (if available)
  • Original Manufacturer’s Statement of Origin
  • Proof of payment of the sales tax
  • Proof of identity and social security number
  • Application for Nevada Certificate of Number for Boat (Form BOAT 001) \

You’ll also have to pay registration fees based on boat length. Your registration must be renewed annually before December 31st.

If the boat comes from a non-title state or the MSO is missing or handwritten, you must take it to a Nevada Department of Wildlife office for inspection.

To register a titled boat from out of state, bring the signed title to a Nevada Department of Wildlife office. An inspection may also be required.

Firearm Registration Forms

Nevada does not require firearm registration for most guns. However, private sales must follow background check laws. Both parties must go through a licensed firearms dealer (FFL) for the transfer.

It’s a good idea to use a Bill of Sale as proof of ownership, even though it’s not legally required. The dealer will run the required background check.
